Summary of Specifications:
The Morris County Park Commission is requesting proposals and qualifications from certified foresters/firms (certified by the Society of American Foresters or listed on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s list of Approved Consulting Foresters) for the creation of a Forest Blowdown Damage Management Plan for a 16 acre pine forest located in 556 +/- acre Jonathan’s Woods in Denville Township, New Jersey. A map of the project area is attached to this RFP. Qualified Consultants are being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.1, et seq. The successful bidder shall comply with the Affirmative Action Requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. The scope of work may include any or all of the following: meeting attendance with owner, site visits, assessment of current conditions, historic research, written report including management alternatives, and estimated costs. Said request for proposals (RFP) will be available from the Morris County Park Commission Administration Building, PO Box 1295, 353 East Hanover Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey, on or after Monday, February 25, 2013 during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., prevailing time, Monday through Friday. The above information will also be accessible from the Morris County Park Commission’s website at www.morrisparks.net under the Public Bids link. The Park Commission shall not be responsible for full or partial sets of Contract Documents, including addenda, obtained from any other source. Deadline for submitting responses for qualifications and proposals is no later than 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Three copies (one bound and two unbound) of the qualification/proposal packets shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “FOREST BLOWDOWN DAMAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN” to the attention of Kelli Kovacevic, Superintendent of Natural Resources Management, Morris County Park Commission Administration Building, P.O.
