Specification for Pedestrian and Vehicle Counters
Morris County Park Commission (MCPC) has stewardship of more than 19,000 acres of parkland, nearly 250 miles of trails, and numerous recreational facilities. MCPC is seeking to purchase vehicle and pedestrian counters and associated software and equipment for data retrieval, management, and analysis.
Vehicle Counter: The vehicle counters shall:
- Use low-field geo-magnetic technology that detects disturbance in the earth’s magnetic field as a vehicles traverse thru the field.
- Include a multi-mode of operations to cover automobiles and off-highway vehicle (OVH)
- Capable of capturing count data within at least 25 feet from location of unit.
Pedestrian Counter: The pedestrian counters shall:
- Use passive-infrared technology that counts people on trails, and paths.
- Capable of capturing count data within at least 15 feet from location of unit.
- Constructed with high quality infrared scope.
