The Moorestown Zoning Board is soliciting proposals for the position of BOARD ATTORNEY for the year 2025 The Township will select a person or firm (hereinafter “Contractor” or “Respondent”) for the provision of these services based upon a fair and open process, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5, et seq. In order to have a proposal considered by the Zoning Board, a Contractor must provide evidence that they can satisfy the minimum requirements as set forth in this document. BOARD ATTORNEY General Criteria 1. To perform such duties as are prescribed by general law and local ordinance. 2. Attend all meetings of the Zoning Board and provide legal work and representation of the Zoning Board at same. 3. Perform all legal work required by the Zoning Board as well as any additional duties as required. 4. Work with the Board Chairperson and Board Secretary to review all development applications and/or applications for relief submitted to the Zoning Board. 5. Prepare all resolutions as directed by the Zoning Board and prepare opinions and ruling on questions of law that may arise at Zoning Board meetings. 6. Work closely with the Township Attorney as necessary to represent the Township in any litigation and conduct trials, appeals, and other proceedings based upon any decisions rendered by the Zoning Board. 7. Maintain all legal papers, documents, memoranda, reports and other records relating to the legal duties of the Zoning Board. Upon termination of services with the Zoning Board, the Zoning Board Attorney shall forthwith surrender to the Zoning Board all such property and shall furnish written consent to substitution of his/her successor in any pending actions or proceedings. 8. Provide general advice as directed by the Zoning Board.
