The contractor shall provide OneDrum, or an equivalent, lithium-ion battery recycling drum for the safe disposal of damaged, defective, or recalled (DDR) lithium-ion batteries. A 55-gallon drum will be supplied for DDR batteries at both the Northern and Southern Recycling Centers. The drum must serve as an all-in-one container capable of safely collecting and transporting large volumes of both single-use and rechargeable batteries in a single drum. Batteries do not need to be sorted by chemistry, nor do terminals need to be individually bagged or taped, including coin cell batteries. The vendor supplying the drum will also be responsible for picking up the full drum of batteries. Pickup should occur when the drum reaches near-full capacity, ensuring timely removal and proper disposal. The county will coordinate the pickup with the contractor at a mutually agreeable time to ensure smooth and efficient service. After pickup, the contractor must transport the drum to a certified recycling facility, fully complying with all safety and environmental regulations, and replace it with an empty drum for continued use.
