Perform the following functions, including, but not necessarily limited to: 1. Protect the identified offices of Somerset County, all property and materials, from illegal entry, fire, theft, sabotage, espionage, malicious mischief and vandalism. 2. Require all employees to show ID 3. Greet all visitors and provide directions to them as necessary, guards are required to have visitors identify their destination within the Human Services building as well as give directions to other County buildings upon request. 4. If a visitor has identified themselves as an IDRC client, that visitor will be asked if they have an appointment. Should the visitor not have an appointment, a phone call is required to the IDRC office to inform IDRC staff of a visitor in the lobby. The visitor will wait in the lobby until the guard is directed to either allow the visitor to go to the office or tell the visitor someone will come to the lobby to escort the client to the office. 5. Secure all doors area upon exiting at end of shift and at the times prescribed by Somerset County. Guard is to turn off lobby lamps in the lobby waiting/seating at end of final shift. 6. Carry out all Security guard instructions as set forth by the County of Somerset. 7. Examine all packages, briefcases and containers for weapons and other sabotage items. 8. Prepare written records of delivery vehicles entering & leaving County premises. 9.
