The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the replacement of existing water mains, as shown on the Drawings and as described in the Specifications. The work shall include the installation of 1,010 linear feet of 8-inch diameter ductile iron water main, 160 linear feet of 10-inch diameter ductile iron water main, 100 linear feet of 12-inch diameter ductile iron water main, 260 linear feet of 12-inch diameter HDPE water main installed by Horizontal Direction Drill (HDD), and 890 linear feet of 20-inch diameter ductile iron water, and the replacement of curb boxes and water services. Work shall also include soil erosion and sediment control, test pits, excavation, backfilling, dewatering, chlorination, pipe pressure and leakage tests, water service connections, pipe abandonment, pipe removal and disposal, valves and fittings, site work including pavement trench restoration, final mill and surface paving, concrete curb replacement (if and where directed) and general site restoration all as shown on the drawings and specified herein. The work is located along Jersey Avenue (State Route 91) in the general industrial zone district within the City of New Brunswick. The work shall be completed within 180-calendar days of the Contractor's receipt of written Notice to Proceed. The NJDOT requires the work to be completed at night, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM Monday through Friday.
