All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: I. Provide a research-based structured, multi-sensory approach to reading instruction that includes materials and strategies that will cover phonemic awareness, phonics/word study, reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, high frequency words, handwriting and spelling and that are aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Foundational Reading Skills in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade; II. Provide and offer support for a school to home connection; III. Provide options for a Tier 2 approach aligned to the current New Jersey Tiered Systems of Support Framework to support all learning including but not limited to Bilingual, English Second Language (ESL), and students receiving special education services; https://www.nj.gov/education/njtss/ IV. Include a focus on formative and summative assessment as a means for understanding student learning and planning instruction; V. Include high-quality decodable texts aligned to the program’s scope and sequence; VI. Provide teachers with a series of professional learning opportunities for teachers to gain a deeper understanding of the pedagogy that is aligned to Foundational Reading skill instruction and those professional learning opportunities will be provided by a literacy specialist with in-depth knowledge of reading and writing instruction for students in grades kindergarten through five; and VII. Possess the distribution capabilities to package, label, and ship all materials in a timely, clear, and organized manner to all NBOE schools with grade levels kindergarten through five. The awarded Contractor will work with the Office of Teaching and Learning in planning the design, implementation, and assessment of any professional development services to be offered to NBOE educators. And, to establish timelines and metrics for evaluation of progress against the proposed professional services plan.
