The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the replacement of an existing water main, as shown on the Drawings and as described in the Specifications. The work shall include the transferring of water services from an existing 6” diameter cast iron water main to an existing 8” diameter ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main, the furnishing and installation of approximately 1,610 linear feet of 8-inch diameter DIP, 340 linear feet of 12-inch diameter DIP, abandonment of the existing 2,878 linear feet of 6-inch diameter cast iron water main and the replacement of curb boxes and water services. Work shall also include soil erosion and sediment control, excavation, backfilling, dewatering, chlorination, pipe pressure and leakage tests, water service connections, pipe abandonment, valves and NOTICE TO BIDDERS NB-2 fittings, site work including site and access clearing, driveway apron reconstruction, installation of mountable/rolled concrete curb, pavement trench restoration, and site restoration all as shown on the drawings and specified herein.
