1. Shell Procurement A. Purchase and store 5,000-10,000 bushels of clean shell material annually o Shells shall be either Oyster or Clam ▪ Other shell material may be submitted as substitutes to meet the desired total quantity and is subject to approval by the Bureau o All shells will be inspected by the Bureau ▪ Any shell/cultch provided containing foreign materials will be rejected B. Store/stage all shell material on the contractor’s property so that it is readily available each year for the planting period of June 1st – July 15th 2. Shell Planting A. Deliver, load and plant between June 1st and July 15th annually through 2027 at (2) locations within the Mullica River- Great Bay Estuary designated by the Bureau o All planting locations must be physically marked by NJDEP prior to planting and a NJDEP representative must be present to observe all plantings o Vendors will coordinate specific dates and hours of operation with the Project Manager to perform this work ▪ This period may be extended by the project manager depending on field conditions B. Planting will utilize GPS plotter positioning of the vessel within marked areas and will involve the broadcasting of a thin layer of shell overboard with high pressured water cannon o Vessel, high-pressured water cannon and all special equipment required for shell planting are to be supplied by the vendor ▪ Vessels must be maneuverable and equipped with a Global Positioning System, with an operable plotter and an operable backup electronic positioning system
