Through multiple efforts, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has set the stage to announce a suite of actions that will revitalize state parks, improve outdoor equity, and grow New Jersey’s outdoor recreation and tourism economy. As examples, this includes development and release of Outside Together!, New Jersey’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, creation of a new urban State Park in Essex and Hudson County, currently referred to as the Greenway, significant investment in park amenity enhancement and facility additions at Liberty State Park and accessibility improvements throughout New Jersey’s State Parks that includes accessible trails and features (sensory trail, track chair, accessible kayak launches, beach mats and beach wheelchairs). To capitalize and amplify such energy, NJDEP seeks a specialized communications and graphic design firm to refresh New Jersey State Park’s brand and develop a suite of logo-type emblems. This initiative will prioritize building brand identity for New Jersey’s State Parks that includes traditional state parks, urban state parks and historic sites in order to deepen public awareness and loyalty for the system and individual state parks, forests and historic sites.
