RFP-02-14 - Administration of the Chaves County Maternal Child Helath Program

Summary of Specifications:
The Chaves County Maternal Child Health Program is funded through the New Mexico Department of Health and is overseen by the Chaves County Maternal Child Health Council, an advisory council to the Chaves County Commission. This year there have been several issues that have come up during contract negotiations with DOH. DOH is requiring that the County no longer have an R.N. Supervisor/MCH Coordinator. They insist that this be broken into two separate positions. In addition, there is an anticipated 7% percent cut in funding. Therefore this RFP includes an 11-month budget totaling $100,700. Should the DOH require less than a 7% budget reduction, the contract would be amended to include the additional money. The MCH Council recommends budgeting for a full-time Coordinator, and a minimum of a ¾-time R.N. Supervisor and a ½-time Lay Health Advisor, increasing the Lay Health Advisor and R.N. Supervisor’s time as funding permits.
