ITB-09-13 - Structure Demolition: 901 E. Alameda, Roswell, New Mexico

Summary of Specifications:
Chaves County is seeking bids for the demolition of two structures (known as the “Chihuahuita Community Center”) located at 901 E. Alameda, Roswell, NM 88203. The main building is approximately 10,710 sq. ft. and is estimated to be 50-80 years old, based on a previous structural evaluation. There is a smaller storage building located to the northeast of the main structure that shall also be demolished. There are three (3) walls with murals on them on the interior of the main building that the County would like to keep as a historic memorial of the current facility if feasible. In the event the contractor could retain these walls, following demolition of the remaining building, measures would need to be taken to secure the mural walls in a manner sufficient to prevent further erosion and vandalism until such time that a new building could be constructed around them.
