Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids for general construction of “Chaparral High School -2005", for the Gadsden Independent School District No. 19, Anthony, New Mexico, will be received by The Purchasing Agent, Gadsden Independent School District No. 19, Anthony, New Mexico at the Gadsden Administration Complex, 100 Laura Court, Santa Teresa, NM (off McNutt Road) until 2:00 p.m., (Local Time) Tueday, May 24, 2005. At that time all bids will be publicly opened at the office of the Purchasing Agent and read aloud. Any bid received after closing time will be returned unopened. Bidders are invited to submit bids for the construction work listed on the Bid Forms Drawings, specifications and contract documents may be examined, without charge, in the office of the District Director of Construction at 1325 West Washington Street Anthony Texas, where they are on file for public inspection, and the office of Alley Associates, 1691 Hickory Loop Suite A, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Bona fide prime bidders may obtain three (3) sets (per school) of drawings and specifications from Alley Associates P.A. located at 1691 Hickory Loop, Suite A, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88005; phone (505) 523-1310, upon deposit of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) each set. Sub-Bidders may obtain one (1) set of drawings and specifications from the Architect upon deposit of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00) each set plus non-refundable shipping costs. The bidders will be refunded their deposit by returning sets in complete condition within fifteen (15) days of the bid opening. No partial sets will be issued. Bid security in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the largest possible total for the bid submitted, as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract promptly and execute the required performance bond and payment bonds. Bidders are advised that the following are included in the contract: 1) Liquidated Damage Clause 2) Prior approval of substitutions. 3) State Wage Rates. 4) Public Works and Apprenticeship And Training Act. 5) 5% Preference applicable to qualified New Mexico Contractors. 6) Public Works Minimum Wage Act Registration 7) Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds and Payment Bonds shall be required from the General Contractor and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Subcontractors. 8) Prebid conference at 2:00 p.m., (Local Time) on FRIDAY 13, 2005 at Sunrise Elementary, 1000 County Line Drive, Chaparral, NM. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all informalities.
