Specifications include, but are not limited to: The design of the project shall conform to the Green Building Standards as defined by the New Mexico General Services Department’s Facilities Management Division (FMD). The design shall integrate building materials and methods that promote environmental quality, economic vitality, and social benefit through the construction and operation of the built environment. The intent of the New Mexico Literacy Institute is to create a built environment that provides the highest level possible of operational efficiency, as well as navigational ease and instructional support for the building tenants and visitors. The design proposal must also meet any energy efficiency standards mandated for State-owned facilities in New Mexico. Please note that LEED is not applicable if the building units are below 15,000 square feet, and Energy Star will be required
