Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Provide specialized early childhood education services for children who are deaf or hard ofhearing and use cochlear implants or hearing aids. These early education, instructional andrelated support services for children ages 0-5 include services provided in the home or in aclassroom-based setting. Services provided under this scope of work must not supplant or replaceservices provided to children ages 0-3 who are eligible or enrolled in the Family Infant Toddler(FIT) Program, and offeror may not request reimbursement for services provided to FIT Programeligible children under this contract.2.Provide educational services that result in positive educational outcomes for children who areutilizing cochlear implants and/or hearing aids. Support spoken language communication forchildren to express their experiences, thoughts, and ideas.a.Provide opportunities for children to observe, listen, problem solve, and drawconclusions.b.Encourage question asking and use of critical thinking skills to answer questions.3.Provide early childhood education service in accordance with the New Mexico Early LearningGuidelines and address the total developmental needs of children, including physical, cognitive,social and emotional needs. These services shall be culturally and linguistically appropriate andshall address the promotion of literacy.4.Monitor and assess child progress utilizing appropriate assessment tools.5.Support a diverse population and respond to the cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic needsof the area and children served.
