The Department of Corrections (MN DOC) requests proposals for Minnesota doctoral licensed psychologist(s) to assist MN DOC staff in providing comprehensive violence and Sexual Offense risk assessments of incarcerated individuals serving life and indeterminate sentences residing in Minnesota Correctional Facilities to assess their current mental health status, diagnosis, and future risk of violence. While a significant portion of these assessments will specifically address the developmental psychological evaluations mandated by recent legislative changes—focusing on individuals who were sentenced as adolescents—the role also necessitates broader evaluations that are inclusive of all individuals, irrespective of the age at which they were sentenced. This means that, in addition to conducting standard comprehensive risk assessments, the psychologist must be adept at evaluating special populations, including individuals with a history of sexual offenses, necessitating the use of specialized risk assessment tools to accurately assess their risk.
