Los Alamos County is seeking a qualified and experienced firm to conduct a comprehensive sound study of the Mesa Public Library. The objective of this study is to evaluate the current noise levels, identify sources of sound disturbance and provide recommendations for noise mitigation to enhance the overall library environment. The scope of work for the sound study includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks: 1. Initial Assessment. a. Conduct a preliminary visit to understand the layout, functions, and noise-sensitive areas of the library. b. Meet with library staff to discuss specific concerns and gather initial observations. 2. Noise Measurement and Analysis. a. Perform noise level measurements at various locations within the library during different times of the day and week. b. Identify primary sources of noise, including HVAC systems, foot traffic, and other potential disturbances. 3. Data Analysis. a. Analyze the collected data to determine noise patterns. b. Compare findings against established noise level standards for libraries and similar environments. 4. Reporting. a. Prepare a detailed report summarizing the findings of the study. b. Provide recommendations for noise reduction and control measures, including potential architectural, mechanical, and operational changes. 5. Presentation. a. Present findings and recommendations to the library management and Library Advisory Board. b. Answer any questions and provide additional insights as needed.
