The University of New Mexico is accepting proposalsfor landscape maintenance servicesfor its branch campuses, the Klauer and Rio Grande Campuses, located at 1157 County Rd 110, Ranchos de Taos NM, and 115 Civic Plaza Dr in Taos NM, respectively. Weekly services will be required to keep the landscaping healthy and the surrounding areas free from debris and weeds. Standard services required are as follows: • Weekly mowing and trimming of all turf grass areas throughout the growing season, for the Klauer Campus. Occasional mowing, asrequired, during the cooler months to maintain neat appearance of turf areas. • Edging of all turf areas on a regular, as need basis, at least one time per month throughout the growing season. • Application of fertilizer to turf and other plant material at proper recommended rates and frequencies to achieve optimum plant health and color throughout the growing season. • Monitoring of irrigation systems and weekly adjustments to ensure proper and consistent operation of sprinkler heads and valves during growing season. Irrigation controller scheduling to be done throughout the year as seasonal weather and plan requirements change. • Implement winterization of the irrigation systems as the seasons direct. • Work with the UNM-Taos Facilities Maintenance Operations to address and resolve Town of Taos water issues. • Nature friendly Insect and disease control on turf, trees and shrubs. • Aeration of turf areas on an as-needed basis to relieve compaction and improve air, water and nutrient movement into soil root zone layers. • Annual review and service of negative landscapes throughout the Klauer and Rio Grande (Civic Plaza) Campuses each spring. • Annual pruning of trees after the leaf fall and as needed throughout the year.
