Cannon AFB, NM is looking to purchase two each of thermal and acoustic imaging cameras for use by aircraft maintainers and other base agencies.
The thermal imaging camera portion of the requirement will be used to detect heat signatures, which can indicate a variety of issues such as overheating, electrical problems, or air leaks. This type of camera can help maintenance personnel quickly identify and diagnose problems with aircraft systems, reducing the time needed for repairs and improving overall aircraft readiness.
The acoustic imaging camera portion of the requirement will enable the detection of air leaks based on sound. This technology can help identify leaks that may not be detectable by other means, such as those of the same temperature as the surrounding environment. This broadens the applicability of the device to a wider range of situations and allows for more thorough troubleshooting of aircraft systems.
