Description

The Brewster Central School District employs commercial drivers to operate school buses and district vehicles, and to service these vehicles. The district is a Commercial Motor Carrier under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act. The CDL holders are therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing under the provisions of the Omnibus Transportation Act of 1991(PL 102-143). These employees are also subject to the more stringent requirements of District Policy and Department of Motor Vehicle 19-A requirements. As of July 2023, the district has about 100+ safety-sensitive commercial drivers, monitors, and mechanics subject to testing.
