Chemung County, NY (County) enforces the in rem foreclosure process under Article 11 of the New York State Real Property Tax Law. The Chemung County Treasurer (Treasurer) is the designated enforcement officer for the foreclosure process. The Treasurer’s Office is soliciting proposals from experienced and licensed professional auctioneers to market and sell foreclosed real property via a Buyer’s Premium Public Auction(s). Auctioneer’s responding to this proposal shall demonstrate experience and capability to market the County’s foreclosed tax properties and to conduct a public real property tax auction.

2022: Sold 92 Parcels at Auction for $1,462,967.50
2021: COVID-19, no Foreclosure or auction
2020: Sold 85 Parcels at Auction for $1,752,100.00
2019: Sold 100 Parcels at Auction for $728,025.00
The County makes no representations as to the number or type of parcels that will be included in the auction but will provide a listing of expected auction parcels as soon as practical after the last date of redemption in January. The County reserves the right to add or withdraw any and/or all parcels from the auction list at any time prior to the auction.
