SECTION 1: PURPOSE
1.1 The City of Albany (hereinafter referred to as the “CITY”) hereby requests
proposals from qualified engineering and architectural firms to provide professional
services related to the renovation of 520 Livingston Avenue in the City of Albany.
Minority Business Enterprises and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged
to submit proposals.
1.2 The ensuing contract for these services will commence in or about September 27,
2023 and will terminate in August, 30 2025, with the possibility of one (1) three (3)
month extension period.
SECTION 2: PROJECT DESCRIPTION
2.1 In 2023, the City of Albany purchased the parcel located at 520 Livingston Avenue
with the intent of transforming the combined warehouse/office/commercial building
into the Albany Wests Community Center. The original structure was originally
constructed in the 1960’s to serve as the Albany Boy’s Club. The structure was
then renovated and transformed into office/warehouse space and served as the
Albany headquarters for Crisifulli Plumbing and Heating. The building consists of
private offices, executive offices, break room, restrooms, storage/receiving area,
and a mechanical room in the basement. The City is planning renovate the
property to create the Albany Wests Community Center. The proposed facility may
include a variety of amenities, including a pool, a gymnasium, fitness area, training
classrooms, meeting spaces, senior programming, and more.
2.2 In April 2023, a condition assessment was completed by Berry Dunn, CHA
Consulting and Nolan Engineering. The following items were included in the
inspection:
