SECTION 1: PURPOSE 
1.1 The City of Albany (hereinafter referred to as the “CITY”) hereby requests 
Proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide Legal Process-Serving 
services on an as-needed basis and non-exclusive basis 

 

1.2 The CITY handles a plethora of cases which require service of key legal documents 
to involved parties. Service of process is a critical step in adjudicating these cases 
that are handled in the department. In the interest of fairness and justice, it is 
important that all parties who are involved in said cases are provided adequate and 
timely notice.  
                     
1.3 It is the intent of the CITY to enter into agreement with a business or entity that is 
specialized in process-service to ensure that timely and adequate notice of pending 
litigation is served upon all parties involved.
