Description

Furnish and delivery of Sodium Hypochlorite to the City of Albany Department of Water & Water Supply, Feura Bush Water Treatment Plant, 501 Old Quarry Rd. Selkirk NY, 12158, Pine Bush Pump Station, 136 Fuller Rd. Albany, NY 12205 Loudonville Reservoir, 301 Albany Shaker Rd., Loudonville, New York, 12211.

This contract period will be one-year (1), and it is estimated that a total of 110,000 gallons would be purchased over the course of that year.

The product shall be Sodium Hypochlorite as manufactured by United Mineral & Chemical Corporation, Linderhurst N.J., C.B.Lind, General Chemical Corporation, Syracuse NY, K J. Ficek, Carus Chemical Company, Ottawa, Ill. or equal manufacturer meeting ANSI/ NSF 60 standards.

The Albany Water Board (or “AWB”), by and through the City of Albany Department of Water & Water Supply, is soliciting sealed bids for the goods and services described in these specifications.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:              SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE

ADVERTISEMENT DATE:               November 7, 2023

BID SUBMISSION DEADLINE: November 21, 2023; 12 Noon

BID OPENING:                                  November 21, 2023; 1:30 pm

SUBMIT SEALED BIDS TO:             Board of Contract and Supply, Room 202, City Hall, Albany, New York 12207

Bids may be submitted in person or by mail.The face of the envelope must contain the contract title and the name/return address of the bidder.


BID DOCUMENTS:                           May be examined on www.albanyny.gov OR www.bidnet.com OR in Room 202, City Hall, 8:30 – 5:00 pm.

BID DEPOSIT: A Bid Deposit of either 5% of the amount of the total bid or five thousand dollars ($5,000) is required. Submit a certified check or bank draft made payable to Treasurer, City of Albany. A bid bond is acceptable.

NOTE: If the bid deposit is not submitted with the bid, the bid will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered.

PREVAILING WAGE RATE The successful bidder must comply with Sections 220-
AND LIVING WAGE RATE:             223 of the New York State Labor Law and/or section 42-161 of the Code of the City of Albany pertaining to the Albany Living Wage Ordinance.
