2021-41 - THE PROVISION OF TREE TRAINING SERVICES

The City of Albany (hereinafter referred to as the “CITY”) hereby requests Proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide Tree Training services on an as-needed and nonexclusive basis. It is the CITY’s intent to solicit Proposals for Training & Fine Pruning services to be performed on the CITY’s trees. The City of Albany Forestry Division of the CITY’s Department of General Services has traditionally been a reactive organization, responding to service requests from residents and other CITY Departments as well as responding to weather-related tree emergencies. A Street Tree Inventory was completed in 2021 by the Davey Resource Group and made possible with the assistance of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Urban and Community Forestry Grant. With this Inventory, the CITY is now able to begin implementing a long-term, proactive maintenance plan for the CITY’s trees. One of the components of this plan is for the CITY to enter into a contract for the Training of Young Trees and Fine Pruning of small-form, ornamental trees.
