Summary of Specifications:
Invitation to Bid Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Cohoes, Central Purchasing, located at City Hall, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, NY 12047, (tel: 518-233-2111) until 9:30 AM local time on __April 3____ __ 2009 . And then, at the Common Council Chambers publicly opened at 10:00AM and read aloud for: City of Cohoes Tree Removal Project The work in this project includes but is not limited to labor, time and equipment basis to remove tree debris in the City of Cohoes. All removals will be on city property or rights of way. Bid items, for example may be chipper, bucket truck, etc. The City will award one prime contract as follows: CONTRACT NUMBER AND TYPE: Contract No. 1 – Tree Removal Project Bids will be received on a labor and equipment basis, in accordance with the Summary of Work as described in the Contract Documents. The Work shall be substantially complete, for occupancy and use of the Owner, within 60 calendar days, and completed and ready for final payment within 90 calendar days after the date when the contract time commences to run. The Contractor(s) and the Contractor(‘s) surety, if any, shall be assessed liquidated damages for each calendar day of delay after the date established for substantial completion in the Documents until the work is complete. The labor on this contract shall be performed in all respects in full accordance with the Labor Law of the State of New York. Contractors must conform to the New York State prevailing wage rate schedules with are annexed to and from a part of the specifications for this project. Bids should not include New York State sales and compensating use taxes on materials incorporated in the work. Bids actually received by mail or by hand after the appointed time on the date specified shall be rejected, notwithstanding that such Bid may have been placed in a mail box or other mail receptacle regularly maintained by the United States Postal Service before such time, and ordinarily in sufficient time to have been delivered on time. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for forty-five (45) days after the Bid Opening. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Drawing and Specifications may be examined on and after___3/20___, 2009 at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Complete sets of Bidding and Contract Documents may be purchased from the City Clerk’s Office, Cohoes City Hall. The deposit on the first set is Twenty - Five Dollars ($25.00), to be refunded in full to all Formal Bidders provided that each set (Drawings and Specifications) is returned to The City, postage paid and in good condition, within ten (10) days after the bid opening. Additional sets of Documents will be mailed first class at an additional non-refundable cost of Twenty - Five Dollars ($25.00). If requested, Documents will be mailed first-class at an additional non-refundable charge of $5.00 per set for postage and handling. Payment for Documents should be made by check only. Separate checks should be written for the first set, for any additional Documents, and for postage and handling. All checks should be made payable to CITY OF COHOES. A pre-bid meeting shall be held at City Hall, Cohoes, New York 12047 on _3/24___, 2009 at 10:00AM__ local time. No other pre-bid meeting will be scheduled. Attendance at this meeting is recommended as representatives of the City and Architect/Engineer will be present to discuss the project. The Engineer will transmit to all listed Bidders record of Addenda in response to question arising at the Conference. Any questions regarding this bid should be directed to Garry F.
