Dutchess County Public Transit (DCPT) is seeking a hosted, automatic, real-time information system using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) technologies (hereafter referred collectively as Product) to better manage its fixed route (revenue) and supervisor/ service (non-revenue) vehicles.
The system shall use Global Positioning System (GPS) to track the location of the vehicle and present the vehicle locations to DCPT staff and transit customers in the form of a map display. The Product shall use position data to monitor each fixed route vehicle’s progress along its route and against its schedule and shall alert DCPT staff when a deviation is detected; provide historical playback and reporting capabilities for DCPT staff. The Product shall “push” real-time information to transit customers of fixed route services via web and cellular based methods. The delivered system shall be turn-key, and include design, manufacture, integration, installation, testing, implementation, and training.
DCPT will be using federal funds for this purchase and must adhere to Federal rules and regulations and requires that federal clauses be included in this solicitation. Proposers will include all federal certifications (signed) with their proposal submission (see Attachment B).
