SSN-RC-2023-045 - SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF TRANSMITTER BRACELET KITS FROM PROJECT LIFESAVER INC

The County of Rockland’s Sheriff Division and Department of General Services Purchasing Division intend to recommend the issuance of a Sole Source award to Project Lifesaver Inc.,  to purchase 17 transmitter bracelet kits. These transmitters are used as part of an engineered system and will be issued to residents who have a medical tendency that causes them to wander.  The Sheriff Division already has the existing equipment, radio frequency receivers that will be programed with to each transmitter frequency upon disbursement.  Monies are provided as part of a grant from Alzeimer’s Association of America. This program is part of their Project Lifesaver program.

This purchase will be made on a sole source basis in accordance with the Rockland County Procurement Policy.

Any interested party should submit a statement of capabilities in sufficient detail to determine if the requirements of this notice can be met by June 22, 2023, prior to 3:00 PM. A determination by the County not to compete the proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the County. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
