Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this bid is to establish a price for the purchase of transit buses, as needed, over a five year period for procurement by Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT). The last date to order will be five years from the date of the initial Award. Current estimated requirements are two (2) 30’ buses to be ordered in 2017 with options for up to 7 additional buses to be ordered during the contract period, depending on funding availability. Pricing for any optional purchases will be based on a PPI Index Escalator as specified in the pricing requirements in Section 20.0.
This will be a multi-year procurement contract and all purchases made under this contract are dependent on funding availability. Anticipated requirements are two (2) thirty foot (30’) or less, two (2) forty foot (40’) and five (5) thirty-five foot (35’) diesel, rear engine, heavy duty transit buses, twelve (12) year, 500,000 mile, Low Floor with kneeling capability, current model year or newer at the time of order.
Bidders should note that this procurement differs from the previous transit bus bid in several important details highlighted in sections 63.6 DRIVETRAIN – Engine, 63.6 DRIVETRAIN -Transmission and in section 63.11 GENERAL DESIGN-MATERIALS.
Ulster County Area Transit responses to three previous Request for Approved Equals are attached for clarification as these responses are applicable to the buses required by this current procurement with the exception of the changes referred to above.
