Dutchess Community College has partnered with the County of Dutchess, HVAC service companies and manufacturers, Automotive Dealerships and Companies, secondary and higher education, workforce development, and economic development partners, to build out a workforce training center to help close the skills gaps and create pipelines to jobs including HVAC repair, maintenance and installation and Automotive Repair, clean/green technology, welding, construction professions, cybersecurity, information technology, and artificial intelligence. In support of these efforts, DCC seeks to expand its Fishkill location at 461 Route 9 Fishkill, NY 12524.
Currently the college utilizes approximately 47,000 square feet on the second floor of the building, which houses offices, educational classrooms, Mechatronics, computer, and biology labs, library and testing facilities. There is an additional 53,000 square feet of undeveloped space on the second floor and 22,500 square feet on the first floor in the same building that will be designed to complete a state-of-the-art workforce training center.
The project includes design services to develop new space in the existing facility to accommodate existing programs to be relocated from DCC’s Poughkeepsie and HVR Airport sites (architectural technology, construction management, welding), accommodating at least 100 Pathway to Technical Early College High School (P-TECH) students annually, and expanding or introducing new programs (HVAC, Automotive, Clean/Green Technology) as early as Academic Year 2025-2026.
