Summary of Specifications:
The project base bid includes the following work on Secondary Settling Tank No. 2: 1. Concrete defect repair and sealing of vertical and horizontal tank surfaces. 2. Removal and disposal inlet baffle assemblies and outlet baffle assemblies. 3. Fabrication and installation of replacement scum troughs, inlet baffle assembly and outlet baffle assembly. 4. Cleaning, coating and adjustment of outlet weir. 5. Providing and installing new sludge removal equipment including disconnect, motor, drive and collection equipment. 6. Disposal of Tank No. 2 Sludge Collection Equipment. 7. Preoperational, start up and testing of rehabilitated sludge removal system. The project will include an alternate bid for the following work on Secondary Settling Tank No. 1: 1. After the rehabilitation of Settling Tank No. 2 is complete, the emptying, cleaning, and disinfection of Tank No. 1. 2. Provide temporary access and lighting of Tank #1 after cleaning and disinfection for Owner’s inspection. 3. After cleaning, disinfection and inspection of Tank No. 1, the removal and disposal of the existing sludge collection system, wood baffles and scum trough. 4. Removal and disposal of inlet baffle assemblies and outlet baffle assemblies. 5. Fabrication and installation of replacement scum troughs, inlet baffle assembly and outlet baffle assembly. 6. Cleaning, coating and adjustment of outlet weir for Tank 1. 7. Providing and installing new sludge removal equipment including disconnect, motor, drive and collection equipment. 8. Disposal of Tank No. 1 Sludge Collection Equipment. 9. Preoperational, start up and testing of rehabilitated sludge removal system. Additionally, an alternate bid will be sought for the following: 1. The relocation of handrail and installation of access grating and supports over tanks.
