Summary of Specifications:
Genesee County Purchasing Director is currently seeking proposals for actuarial services for a municipal Genesee County employee self-funded workers’ compensation plan which includes County Government, local municipalities, school districts and volunteer fire fighters.
The County is seeking a qualified Actuary Firm to provide an actuarial valuation of the County’s self insured workers compensation programs. The County is asking for an estimate of the liability for a three year period ending December 31, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and a two year period year ending December 31, 2016 and 2017.
The County currently has 802 employees (675 full time and 127 part time), Genesee Community College has 715 employees (307 full time and 408 part time), and there are approximately 1,018 active volunteer firepersons with approximately 1,858 local government/local education employees. There were approximately 189 open workers’ compensation claims in the first week of September 2012.
All services provided under this specification must meet requirements as described in the General Specification as well as any detail sections. An award to the vendor submitting the proposal that best meets the requirements of the County will be made after review by the Genesee County Manager, Workers’ Compensation Administrator, Deputy Treasurer, Genesee County Purchasing Director, and the Genesee County Ways and Means Committee and approved by the Genesee County Legislature. The selected vendor may be requested by Genesee County to make presentations to the referenced named committees.
