Genesee County is interested in updating its Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis. The housing market has undergone significant change and fluctuation in the past five years leading to uncertainty and increased risk for housing service agencies and potential housing developers. This update will help housing providers, housing developers, municipalities, Genesee County agencies and not-for-profit organizations to better understand the existing and future housing market and the needs of residents. It will consider location of future housing opportunities in relation to Genesee County’s Smart Growth Development Areas and transportation connectivity to jobs and services. The study is intended to guide County, municipal and economic development housing policies and assist private and public housing providers to design projects that meet the current and future housing needs of working-age individuals, seniors, veterans, persons with disabilities and low- and moderate income households along with the full spectrum of households by income band (lower, middle, upper). This information will be used to update municipal comprehensive plans and help guide the development community to bring project proposals to the County and partner municipalities that are appropriate and necessary to meet the demand.
This contract will take effect November 1, 2023, with the successful provider being expected to begin service at full levels as of that date. The contract will continue through October 31, 2024.
The contract terms do not allow for renewals.
