Open-end awards will be made to all vendors meeting Rensselaer County specifications. Selection shall be based upon the lowest costs to the County, which is determined by combining materials and trucking costs (either force account or contracted) relative to distances from each project site. The distance to the center of the project site will be used in making the combined costs evaluation. Rensselaer County reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and re-bid, if necessary, when it appears to be in the County’s best interest.
Rensselaer County and its political sub‑divisions require undetermined quantities of coarse aggregate, dry rip‑rap and sub base material as described in Sections 703‑02, 620‑2 and 304-2 of "Standard Specification – Construction and Materials," New York State Department of Transportation, dated May 1, 2008, with most current addenda.
All bidders must supply materials from New York State Department of Transportation approved operating sources. All materials provided must be in compliance with listed in the bid specifications.
