RFI-TFS STUVOICE-091223 - Supporting Student Voice and Participatory Budgeting in Rochester City School

I. Introduction
The Rochester City School District (RCSD) is committed to fostering student engagement and empowering our young citizens to actively participate in shaping their educational experiences. In line with this commitment, RCSD is seeking information from community agencies interested in collaborating to support the implementation of student voice initiatives and participatory budgeting in our middle and high schools.
II. Background
Rochester City School District serves a diverse student population, and we believe that students' voices are a valuable resource in shaping educational policies and practices. We are committed to providing students with opportunities to share their perspectives, ideas, and concerns and to actively involve them in the budgeting process to allocate resources effectively.
III. Project Objectives
The primary objectives of this Request for Information (RFI) are:
To Identify Potential Partners: RCSD seeks to identify community agencies with the expertise, resources, and a track record of success in supporting student voice initiatives and participatory budgeting processes.
To Understand Best Practices: We aim to gather information on best practices and innovative approaches for engaging students in decision-making and budgeting processes from potential partners.
To Explore Collaborative Opportunities: RCSD is interested in exploring potential collaboration models, including partnerships, consulting, training, and resource sharing, to enhance student voice and participatory budgeting in our schools.
IV. Scope of Services
Potential partners are invited to provide information about the services they can offer in the following areas:

• Student Engagement: Strategies and programs to engage students in meaningful ways, ensuring their voices are heard in school decision-making.
• Participatory Budgeting: Expertise in implementing and facilitating participatory budgeting processes that involve students, educators, and community members in allocating resources.

• Data Collection and Analysis: Methods for collecting and analyzing feedback and data related to student voice and budgeting initiatives.

• Community Outreach: Strategies to engage the broader community in supporting and participating in these initiatives.
