1.01 The following criteria outline the specifications for the construction of fiber-optic based Carrier Wide Area Networks (WAN’s) for the Nassau County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). BOCES is seeking pricing for this service using fiber optic transport facilities between school district buildings. The intended use of these WANs will be for data transport and ancillary voice. Included sites are listed below in Section 1.10. Responses will include the procurement of or access to any and all rights to public facilities, pole rights, and/or other construction that will in any way impact the cost of the project. Nassau BOCES requires that the detailed proposals for these projects reflect costs for the implementation and continued use of all facilities and fiber optic connections referenced in the enclosed specifications. Nassau BOCES is requesting pricing for three-year and five-year terms for the lease of the WAN’s described in this document. All proposals must reflect non-recurring and recurring costs. Installation costs, as well as recurring monthly charges, where applicable must be listed (see pricing pages). 1.02 All equipment and material referenced in your bid proposal must meet or exceed the design criteria below. Testing of all installed optical fibers referenced within the enclosed proposal to accepted industry standards is required, including but not limited to the use of Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR). Results of compliance testing must be provided to Nassau BOCES for final acceptance. Site surveys will be required to ensure suitability of existing sites for installation of all equipment. These surveys shall include but are not limited to HVAC, existing electrical service and additional equipment requirements.
