3. 1. Fuel tanks a. Existing 5,000-gallon underground fuel oil tank serving heating systems, located in the rear parking lot. b. Existing 4,000-gallon aboveground horizontal diesel fuel tank serving tmck fueling. 3. 1. 1 Design replacement of the above mentioned underground fuel oil and aboveground horizontal diesel tank serving the boiler system and tmck fueling, respectively. The existing fuel oil tank shall be abandoned in place and replaced with a new aboveground vertical tank. The existing diesel tank shall be removed and replaced with a new aboveground vertical tank. New tanks shall have the same capacity as those replaced. This includes designing the foundations for the vertical tanks. 3.2. Electrical System Upgrades 3. 2. 1 Full building electrical design, including power distribution, fire alarm system modifications and branch circuiting to handle both existing needs and those created by this project, including but not limited to the new hot water heating system and air handling units. 3. 2. 2 Replace the existing emergency generator at the facility. The new diesel fueled generator shall be sized to provide backup/standby power to the entire facility and relocated outdoors in a location minimizing impact on parking and other fire department operations. The design shall include the removal of the existing indoor generator. A hook up for a temporary generator should be included, which will be installed at the beginning of construction, to serve both during construction as well as after project completion in the event of failure of the primary generator. 3.3. Boiler and Domestic Hot Water Heater Replacement. Design hot water heating system to replace the existing steam heating system. Design shall include a new oil-fired hot water boiler, control system design and distribution piping. The associated steam and condensate piping shall be replaced with hot water supply and return piping. The existing steam tenninal units shall be replaced with hot water terminal units. 3.4. Evaluate HVAC system/ air-handling units serving the entire facility and provide a technical report with system upgrade recommendations. Design replacement of the four air-handling units serving the heating, ventilating, air -conditioning for the building. Design includes load calculations based on the infonnation provided for building construction materials, equipment and lighting within the Project Area. Design will include new indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant piping, ductwork modifications and control system design.
