Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this bid is to establish pricing for preventive maintenance as well as an hourly labor rate for repair services for the vehicles in the Sheriffs Office fleet. The fleet consists of approximately thirtyfive (35) vehicles which currently include: Dodge Chargers (majority of the fleet), Ford Escape (hybrid), Ford Expedition, Chevrolet Tahoe, Dodge Durango and some Chevrolet Impalas. o Bidders must have an authorized New York State Motor Vehicle Repair/Inspection Station located within ten (10) road miles of the Tompkins County Sheriffs Office located at 779 Warren Road, Ithaca, NY. Bidders having stations farther than ten (10) miles from the Sheriffs Office may submit a bid however a clause must be submitted with the bid that states how the vehicles will be picked and delivered. o All prices bid for the Basic Service must include labor and parts that are required to perform the service. Parts replaced due to failure of inspection shall be charged separately under the percentage discount on parts not included in the specified sequence clause. Basic Service: This service is to be performed at the manufacturer specified interval, or as determined by the TCSO. Approximately 200 basic services are performed each year. This service shall include: Engine oil and filter replacement including up to 7 quarts of oil that meets or exceeds manufacturer recommendations for viscosity and API graded standards. Engine air filter shall be inspected and replaced as deemed necessary per manufacturer specifications. Complete chassis service including lubrication of all grease zerk fittings, lubrication of all hinges, latches, locking mechanisms, and any other hardware friction surface. All four wheels shall be removed and a visual inspection of all brake, driveline, and suspension components will be completed, and documented using percentage factors for brakes and recommended repairs for other components. Shocks and struts shall be visually inspected for broken, missing, or leaking components. All tires including spare shall be set to manufacturer specified pressures, and shall be rotated if deemed necessary due to irregular wear, or specified by manufacturer interval. Tire wear in 32nd shall be documented on the work order. Check and fill the following fluids, any added fluids shall be documented on work order, or invoice. o Differential front and rear, o Brake master cylinder, o Transmission, o Power steering, o Coolant, o Windshield washer. All belts and hoses shall be inspected and their condition shall be documented on work order or invoice. All battery and alternator connections shall be inspected for tightness, damage and corrosion. All driveline components including universal joints, drive shafts, and constant velocity joints shall be inspected. Radiator and A/C condenser shall be inspected for obstructions and or damage. Exhaust system components shall be inspected. All lighting systems shall be inspected. All safety restraint systems shall be inspected, including air bag readiness indicators. Their condition shall be documented on work order or invoice. Tire replacement service: This service will be performed when the TCSO has deemed tire replacement is necessary. This service shall include: Removal of wheel and tire assembly from vehicle, Dismounting and mounting of tire using a manufacturer approved machine, Spin balance of new tire, Installations of tire and wheel assembly on vehicle. Wheel and tire assemblies are to be torque to manufacturers specifications using hand held click style torque wrench. Any damage done to tires, wheels, or sensor components during this service shall be the responsibility of the agency providing service. The agency providing service shall incur all costs related to damages. Note: The County reserves the right to provide the needed tires to the successful bidder.
