Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Position Buffalo to implement its future mobility plans to create a denser, more walkable, and transit-oriented downtown to provide for a lasting environmental impact within the region; 2. Reduce the need to commit limited downtown real estate to parking; 3. Increase pedestrian safety with the reduction of vehicle traffic; 4. Support the City’s “Safe Streets” Initiative (i.e., Vision Zero) by reducing “cruising” for parking; 5. The ability of the City to accurately predict parking availability and traffic flow; 6. Update metered rates; 7. Advise citizens via signage of any potential emergency updates (snow storms, etc.); 8. Have a complete understanding of our curb inventory. 9. Medical Corridor Objectives: a. Sensor data collection for tracking demand and occupancy rates. b. Comparison of mini-tow requests during snow events. c. Comparison of emergency response metrics during snow events. d. Duration of time taken for a vehicle to find a parking spot. 10. Chippewa Objectives: a. Identify load zone times. b. Review the duration of time load zones are not utilized. c. Review parking demand after 5:00 pm. d. Identify peak times and days throughout the week. 11. Canalside Objectives: a. Review EV vehicle utilization around Canalside. b. Identify parking deficit areas based on occupancy data. c. Review parking demand after 5:00 pm. d. Identify peak times and days throughout the week.
