The Monroe County Office of Mental Health (MCOMH) is soliciting proposals from organizations interested in providing Youth Peer Mentoring Services in our community. By linking youth with a peer with lived experience, these services help young people and their families to connect to their communities, promote recovery, and minimize the need for intensive treatment options. In our changing service system, assisting people with developing natural supports and advocating for their needs (and the needs of their family members) becomes ever more important. Youth Peer Mentoring Services may help youth become more open to accepting assistance to improve their overall mental health. This RFP addresses the importance of providing youth peer supports in person-centered recovery for youth and their families.
