Specifications include, but are not limited to: Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) Food Service works to provide the highest quality meals to its students, understanding that school meals are an essential component to student health, wellbeing, and future success. The Buffalo Farm to School Team works to connect k-12 schools with local food providers to improve student nutrition, provide agriculture and nutrition education opportunities, and support local and regional farmers. Food Service is also striving to achieve this by working with vendors who can cultivate relationships with various types of local farmers who can provide local products to our district. Geographic Preference is a credit system designed to help local providers. The district has chosen to implement a point system to determine which bidder most closely meets the best interests of the District. There is a possible score of 100 points. This is a line-by-line award: each line will be assessed individually and awarded to the bidder with the highest number of points.
