2023039 - Town Wide Shrub Planting

The Town of Amherst is looking for a vendor to supply and plant shrubs of various kinds for town wide use.  All shrubs are to be handled and transported in a manner conducive to good nursery practices (American Nursery Standards).  All plants shall be in containers or balled and burlapped as specified and true to name.   No substitutions in species/cultivar will be allowed unless specified in writing by the Town and/or agent or inspector.  Each shrub shall be well planted, existing earth removed and refilled with soil acceptable to the Town and/or agent or inspector, and well tamped.  The fertilizer shall be “time release” only and will be placed in the hole and covered by 4 to 6 inches of soil before the plant is placed in position.

Quantities will vary. The Town of Amherst plants the majority of their shrubs in the fall, with a smaller number of shrubs may be planted throughout the year.  Quantities are not guaranteed.
