Warren County is planning up to two (2) county-wide Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events on a
yearly basis. Events will either be held at the DPW Office/Shop at 4028 Main Street Warrensburg, NY or at
the Town of Queensbury Town Hall/DPW Shop at Bay and Haviland Roads, Queensbury, NY. Warren County
will contract with a fully approved and licensed hazardous waste management contractor to assist in planning,
budgeting, supervision and management at the collection sites during the events. Bidder will provide the
proper personnel and supervisors trained and experienced in the proper handling, testing, packaging, transport,
and disposal of materials collected in accordance with all applicable Federal and State regulations regarding
management of hazardous wastes.
Warren County has approximately 65,000 residents. 2024 will be the seventh annual Household Hazardous
Waste Collection Event sponsored by Warren County. The events will be conducted at a New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation approved site. Residents will be asked to bring limited quantities
of specific acceptable wastes in original labeled containers for disposal. Residents will be asked to pre-register
for a time to drop-off waste. The actual level of participation is uncertain, however participation has varied
throughout the prior years with an average participation of 200 households participating.
Bidders should arrange for site visits by contacting Maiken Holmes at Warren County Engineering Department
at (518) 761-6556 or by emailing mholmes@warrencountydpw.com.
