Separate sealed bids for
2022 Security Vestibules will be received in person, via regular mail by US Postal Service, or via special courier service until 3:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Alamance-Burlington School System Administrative Office, 1712 Vaughn Road, Burlington, NC 27217, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read.
Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal, whether by mail or otherwise, will be rejected. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated. Bids submitted by facsimile, email, text message or by telephone shall not be accepted.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at Alamance-Burlington School System Administrative Office, 1712 Vaughn Road, Burlington, NC 27217 on
Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.
Scope of Work: This project includes renovations for security vestibules at five schools. They are as follows: Graham Middle, South Graham Elementary, North Graham Elementary, Haw River Elementary, and Ray Street Complex. The scope of work for the project is as follows:
- Renovations: Renovations consist of creating security vestibules and front office upgrades with ADA improvements.
- The projects are located at the following addresses:
Graham Middle School - 311 East Pine Street, Graham, NC 27253 - South Graham Elementary - 320 Ivey Road, Graham, NC 27253 -
North Graham Elementary School - 1025 Trollinger Road, Graham, NC 27253 Haw River Elementary School - 701 East Main St., Haw River, NC 27258 Ray Street Complex - 609 Ray Street, Graham, NC 27253
All bidders are notified that the provisions of NCGS 143-128 and 143-129, including guidelines for minority business enterprise participation (143-128.2) shall be observed in letting and executing the work.
Bidders are also notified that they must be properly licensed under the state laws governing their respective trades and that applicable provisions of Chapter 87 of the General Statutes of the State of North Carolina shall be observed in the receiving of bids and awarding of contracts for the work.
Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. A Performance Bond and separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in the full amount of the contract shall be submitted prior to executing the work.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, to waive informalities, and to award the contract to other than the low bidder should it be deemed in the Owner’s best interest.
No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after receipt of bids.
Electronic Bidding Documents for this project can be obtained by contacting the Architect after February 24, 2022. Online access will be provided to prime bidders only.
