Landscape Improvements: Piney Green/Country Club Intersection; Empire Blvd/Hwy 17; and Hwy 17
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Landscape Improvements: Piney Green/Country Club Intersection; Empire Blvd/Hwy 17; and Hwy 17 Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, in Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 10 AM Eastern Standard Time on December 9, 2020, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The City will receive single-prime bids only for this project.
The project consists of the constructing two gateway signs and installing decorative landscaping at the intersection of Piney Green Road and Country Club Road; along Hwy 17 near Piney Green; and at Empire Boulevard and Piney Green Road.
There is a pre-bid meeting on November 17, 2020 at 10AM in Meeting Room A at Jacksonville City Hall, located at 815 New Bridge Street. This is not a mandatory meeting.
Potential subcontract opportunities which may exist on this project include, but may not be limited to plantings, and other items not specially referenced herein.
If the bidder fails to achieve the contract goal stated herein, it is required to provide documentation demonstrating that is made a good faith effort in attempting to meet the established goals. A bid which fails to meet there requirements will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Transportation Department, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Transportation Department, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.

Bids for this project shall be guaranteed by all bidders for a period of 65 calendar days following the bid opening.
