BACKGROUND. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River was established in September 1943. As a component of the Station Command Chaplain’s Office, we have the mission to develop personnel and families of operating forces and the MCAS New River community for spiritual and personal readiness, through ministries, pastoral care, and the provision for and facilitation of the free exercise of religion.
SCOPE/OBJECTIVES. The MCAS New River Command Religious Program (CRP) seeks qualified contractors to provide non-personal support services as a Catholic Director of Religious Education (CDRE). The CDRE will provide Catholic educational services necessary to support the missions and responsibilities of the CRP. The CRP provides more than 100 RE classes annually, many of which are Catholic specific.
GENERAL REQUIREMENT. The CDRE will oversee and enhance the CRP’s Catholic educational framework by developing, implementing, and monitoring educational curriculum and instructional methods that align with the Catholic faith’s teachings and values. The CDRE will collaborate closely with volunteers, staff, servicemembers, parents, children, and others to create a cohesive and supportive Catholic learning environment. The CDRE will engage in professional development initiatives, policy development, student services management, and community outreach to further the CRP’s mission-scope and objectives.
