This work involves installation, removal, troubleshooting, interconnecting of cabling, passive and active voice/data/CA TV equipment and other equipment that is part of the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure. Samples of the types of materials include: a) Cabling – Cables are industry-standard fiber optic cables up to 144 count, UTP copper cables, and coaxial cables. Cables (horizontal and riser) are those typical of intra-building infrastructure construction. b) Cross-Connect Hardware – Hardware consists of industry-standard termination blocks, panels, faceplates, patch cords, etc., c) Support Hardware – Hardware includes industry standard equipment racks, cable managers, ladder racks, backboards, sleeves, conduits, splice enclosures, etc. Also included is typical structured wiring support hardware (plywood, wall and trapeze brackets, grounding equipment, etc.). d) Active Equipment – A variety of communications equipment shall be installed, connected, and cut over for end users. This includes data network switches, wireless access points, telephone handsets, emergency notification call and speaker systems, Uninterruptible Power Source(s) (UPS), CATV distribution hardware, etc. e) Material Installation – Repair and removal may require Heavy Work, which is defined as: Exerting up to 100lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
