1. Introduction:
In accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System Section 3.2.1.2.1, the FAA is posting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify interested parties that are capable of providing Cloud services in support of the operational mission of the FAA’s Mission Support Operating Environment (MSOE), Research and Development Operating Environment (RDOE), Mission Essential Operating Environment (MEOE), and Mission Critical Operating Environment (MCOE) associated with day-to-day agency operations.
2. General Information:
This RFI is being issued for “Market Research Purposes” only and does not commit the Government to pay any proposal preparation costs for responding to this notice and is not considered an allowable direct charge to any resultant task order or any other contract. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). The information submitted in response to this RFI will be used by the FAA for informational, market research, and planning purposes only.
3. Background:
The Contractor must support execution of the contract across multiple delivery orders for each distinct FAA tenant customer. The FAA’s cloud environment is not centrally funded. The current environment is comprised of over 200 discrete and individually funded delivery orders and over 500 discrete cloud hosting accounts. The current environment is split between two Cloud Service Providers (CSPs); approximately 95% Amazon Web Services (AWS) and 5% Microsoft Azure based on commercial service value. The FAA anticipates potential annual growth of at least 10% per year.
FAA’s anticipated size, scope, and complexity:
• Multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
o Amazon Web Services (AWS)
o Microsoft Azure
o Possibly add additional CSPs
• 500+ AWS and Microsoft Azure accounts
o Currently 95% AWS and 5% Microsoft Azure
• 200+ delivery order customers
• 5-year Period of Performance
• CSP services
o Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
o Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Vendor must provide a narrative demonstrating capability to meet the criteria identified in the Requirements Attachment.
