2. Current Scope of Work The following list sets forth the Order of Priority in which snow removal shall be accomplished. a. Entrance and exit roadways of rail stations b. Bus loops c. Kiss & Ride and Rail Station parking lots. d. Bus garages and other non-revenue facilities 6. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: The following are general requirements: a. Care shall be exercised so that parked vehicles are not blocked with snow. If cars are blocked with snow by the Contractor’s workers, the Contractor shall be responsible for hand shoveling cars out. b. All paved roadways, parking lots and maneuvering areas are to be plowed. c. No snow shall be pushed into or on any public streets. d. The Contractor shall exercise care in the direction the snow is plowed, so that adjacent sidewalks are not covered with snow. Contractor shall make site visits to stations prior to snow season and follow the plowing plans provided by WMATA. e. Contractor shall employ all necessary safety precautions to prevent injury to persons or damage to property and equipment. If at any time WMATA determines that proper safety measures are not being employed, the Contractor will be stopped from working and can resume work only at such time as the condition is remedied to the satisfaction of WMATA. f. All operators assigned to snow removal duties with WMATA shall be qualified to operate their equipment, Operators will respond to COTR(s) instructions. g. Contractor’s employees shall not use or be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other controlled substances while performing work for WMATA or physically on WMATA leased or owned property. h. Contractor is responsible for ensuring that Contractor’s employees perform services in accordance with WMATA standards for safe operation of equipment and safe handling of chemicals. i. Parking lots will be plowed completely to curb or bumper blocks. Lots will be left clean and free of snow. Contractor shall not plow snow onto sidewalk or in front of driveways. Do not block handicap ramps.
