REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND SOURCES SOUGHT FOR PLANNING PURPOSES (a) The Government will not pay for the information submitted in response to this notice. (b) Although “proposal” and “offeror” are used in this Request for Information and Source Sought Notice, your response will be treated as information only. It will not be used as a proposal. (c) This notice is issued for the purpose of obtaining information to serve as market research and to find contractors capable and interested in a possible future procurement to assist in the development of a procurement strategy.
The Government seeks potential sources for the procurement of two (2) Manual Hydraulic Compression Presses. The hydraulic compression press requirement for operations is for a 30-ton manual hydraulic press with heated platens with a minimum heating capacity of 500°F, platen minimum size 18.5” x 12.5” and custom 24” daylight, standard 4-inch stroke, the ability to add appropriate side plates, guides, and three (3) space adapters, semi-automatic control (automatically opening at end of cycle), adjustable cure timer, solenoid dump valve, high accuracy digital force gauge, the electrical service requirements shall be 208 V single phase (PH1) power, and a floor stand, which will increase operator capability of maintaining accurate force loading during a variety of cure cycles.
The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), Redstone Arsenal, AL, seeks this requested information to serve as market research to aid in development of the procurement strategy for two (2) manual hydraulic compression heated presses suitable and capable of fabricating precision compression-molded components. As a result of issuing this RFI and Sources Sought Notice, the Army expects to receive information from potential offerors who possess the capability to provide after sale maintenance and calibration support on site at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.
Interested parties should submit white papers not to exceed five pages not including the title page. Do not use font smaller than 12pt font. Potential offerors’ responses to this RFI should include the following: (1) a brief description of the offeror (2) a brief description of products and specifications provided by the offeror; (3) the type(s) of service issues that can be corrected by the offeror.
